The campus’s luxuriant garden sits on the banks of Lake Geneva. It’s the perfect place for relaxing between classes. The palm trees and flowers flourish thanks to the unique Montreux microclimate.
Welcome to our Montreux campus, occupying the charming 18th-century Villa Ormond (said to have been built by Napoleon). It’s perfectly situated in the center of historic Montreux, a lively student town with plenty of shops and cafés nearby.
You can see on the right our very own EU bicycles available on campus. Hop on a bike or take a short stroll to reach the seven-kilometer promenade, which runs along the lake between Chillon Castle and the nearby town of Vevey, home to the headquarters of the world’s leading nutrition, health and wellness company, Nestlé.
Step into the villa’s graceful, high-ceilinged entrance with marble flooring. On the right, you’ll find the manor house staircase that leads up to our state-of-the-art classrooms.
Step through this door to our reception area where part of our administration department is also located. Here students are assisted by helpful staff who speak fluent English. On the wall, you will find our program brochures as well as magazines about what is going on in the vibrant city of Barcelona. On the large screen, we announce EU’s upcoming activities; from numerous guest speaker sessions to sports try-outs, students use this screen to keep abreast of our campus’ busy schedule.
With a dynamic mix of multilinguals and a large student population, you’ll quickly feel at home in our student lounge. From our balcony, you can see these stunning views which have inspired many writers, artists and singers, including David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Igor Stravinsky and Vladimir Nabokov. Numerous hiking trails allow for quick excursions to nearby forests and, if music is your thing, the Queen Studio Experience offers a glimpse into the iconic group’s recording history in Montreux’s original Mountain Studios.
